this right here is an Edwards coded pull station now notice the word coded is there and what makes this different from a normal pull station is when you pull it it sends a coded signal to the alarms instead of a constant signal let me show you what I mean you see in the back here there's a whole mechanism there's some gears some wheels and everything well when you pull it you see this little wheel right here let me go ahead and pull it it spins around and taps the circuit kind of like Morse code and it creates a coded signal so as you can see there's four bumps there's four sets there's two sets of four bumps on the wheel and so it's creating a four for code so when you pull the alarm it would go and that's a coded signal so it this is an older style of doing things and the whole idea of this is there's different codes throughout the building and the building maintenance person or the o
