hey everybody welcome back to recordology and a special welcome to newbies people learning this for the first time perhaps you once had record players and now you're getting back into it perhaps you've never had one before and you're really curious about how this works also if you're a fact checker of mine if you're an expert that admittedly knows more than i do you're welcome to join this as well if i say something wrong you'll let me know and that's honestly how i learn a lot so you're into records and you've heard this term needle stylus cartridge what in the world does it mean well let's break a record player down a record player does two basic things it spins the record and then it places and allows a cartridge to read that information but you may be saying wait a minute cartridge i thought that's what a record needle was well a needle is part of a cartridge what am i talking about
