this is a turntable I just inherited the AR XA it's arguably the first audiophile turntable it's from the early 1960s it was very popular made for over a decade very compact to its the depth of a record jacket so if you have very tight spacing you can even put this on any shelf that can hold records which is kind of nice and because the dust cover lifts off rather than hinges backwards you don't have to worry about you needing extra depth for the clearance of the hinge and dust cover in this video I'm going to talk about this design and I'm going to show you by demonstration what makes it so special so if you're into science you're really gonna like this video cuz that's all this video is about even if you don't care about this turntable you'll still learn an awful lot about what you want in a turntable design for the best sound this is a belt drive turntable belts help minimize vibrati
