hi Tim here with chesco security again today we're going to be replacing the battery in your wireless smoke detector before replacing batteries be sure to call the Central Station to let us know you are working on the smoke detector because it will send us a signal a trouble signal so to remove the battery simply grasp the detector and counterclockwise give it a turn just a half a turn it'll pop right off the base and there you'll see the battery sometimes it's easier to use a small screwdriver to pull the battery out simply pry it out of position and there's the battery it uses a cr123a three volt lithium battery ok these can be picked up at any hardware store or pharmacy sometimes even supermarkets they're easily found once you have the new detector make sure the positive tab goes into positive first where it shows you pop it in place realign the detector you may need to spin it a lit
