It has one input for K-type thermocouples and can display the temperature in 0.1° steps. The thermometer comes with one 3 ft (1 m) wire temperature probe, this has a glass fiber insulation and works up to about 500°F (260°C). In addition this thermometer set has a stainless steel K-type thermocouple insertion sensor, which is about 0.12" or 3 mm in diameter, 6 inches long and has a 3 inch plastic handle. The temperature rating of 1292 degree Fahrenheit (700 degree Celsius) is for the tip of the stainless steel sensor, the handle and cable are stable to about 160 °F. This digital thermometer can be used in HVAC trade to check air conditioners, heaters or furnaces with high precision. It also is widely used in manufacturing and metal working to test temperatures in oven, kiln, furnace or equipment. This K-type thermometer is also used in the laboratory to measure temperature of reactions, liquid or gas. The digital K-type thermometer is also great for science projects and whenever you need a precise measurement of temperatures. In addition to degree Fahrenheit and Celsius, this thermometer can also display the temperature in the scientific unit K = Kelvin.
