LEGO Mindstorms Ev3 Ultrasonic Sensor

[Music] hello and welcome back in today's video we're gonna take a look at the ev3 ultrasonic sensor as you can see I've got the sensor mounted on the front of the bot the ultrasonic sensor works like in the echolocation of a bat what it does it sends out a very high-frequency sound wave it hits an object and bounces back and it's able to calculate the distance between the front of the sensor and whatever object is in front of it it can detect distances anywhere from one centimeter to 250 centimeters or if you're measuring in inches it can measure from one inch to 99 inches so that's a pretty wide range in today's video we're gonna be measuring distances on this table which is four foot in diameter so that's gonna be perfect for what we want to do today let's go ahead and step over to the table I want to show you how to set up the sensor and do some preliminary measurements before we ge
