Unlike expensive hard-wired pool alarm systems, it does not require hardware in or around the pool and it is completely transportable along with the base station. A battery pack is available to power the base station when no AC power is available. This Wristband features a bright-colored Green turtle and locks securely onto your the wrist of your child with an included key so it will not get removed or lost easily. It is designed to withstand play but the rugged Safety Turtle Wristband must be fully immersed in water before activating to avoid a false alarm due to rain or spray from hoses or lawn sprinklers. The Safety Turtle alarm system has two modes of operation: Active Mode and Test Mode. It also has a Fault Condition to alert you if the system detects a problem with one of its components. It also uses a color-coded system designed to minimize false alarms or other problems due to neighboring systems. Each colored wristband operates on a different frequency, just make sure that all wristbands communicating with your Safety Turtle base station are the same color. Remember, also that the Safety Turtle is not a substitute for diligent supervision or for pool access barriers. It has been designed as a ?last line of defense" to help prevent drowning of young children.
