hey everybody welcome to the next video in our series on setting up your new turntable this week we're going to be talking about cartridge alignment I'm going to show you the tools you need and how to use them alright guys for proper cartridge alignment you need tools one of the best tools for that is the cartridge protractor from Hudson hi-fi so what you need to do to use that is to simply take off your platter mat because the thickness of the actual protractor is going to represent the platter mat itself so in order to do it properly you just simply want it on there like that with no platter map so as you can see there are two areas on the protractor with a grid and the idea is that by using both of these grids you can align your cartridge in the best way now as you know as a stylus rotates across the record surface and back the stylus and cartridge assembly are never going to track e
