hi my name is Cheryl and I'm one of the lead technicians at videoonerepair.com I'd like to speak with you in regards to a problem that we sometimes see on the sony HDR hc1 cameras these are great cameras or well made cameras however we sometimes do see problems with the LCD screens what will happen is you may find that when you open the LCD screen you'll either get no picture at all or you may find that the menu buttons don't work and you may even find that if you flip the LCD screen around and you lay it against its body it may even start functioning basically what goes faulty is there's a flexible cable that runs from the LCD screen into the main part of the camera which goes faulty and needs to be replaced there's also a modified part by Sony which is also replaced as well it's very important that those parts are replaced together to prevent that problem from happening again it's als
