this is my atr 102 and uh i want to run a small reel of tape i've got this uh brand new reel of 457 quantity that's never been used and so i've loaded it on here but uh i know that the machine this machine uses tape tension to hold it doesn't have a pinch roller it's got a capstan here and these uh two pressure rollers or whatever they're called and uh tape guides anyway it holds the tape in tension and it doesn't use a pinch roller so in order for it to work right it's got to have a certain mass here and the rate that we solve this with these little tiny plastic reels that don't have much mass is we'll take a larger reel and we'll set it right over the top and then i can use the uh thingamajig to hold that in place that holds the tension and now i'll be able to run this reel and get it to to hold tension there you can see i've got the small reel loaded underneath and the larger reel on
