Got a Yamaha XJ750. '82 model had a vacuum petcock. Went ahead and got myself a rebuild kit. So, I guess I'll take you along for the ride. While I speed through this... for those who don't know, a vacuum petcock works when the engine is -- on under vacuum. Different from a gravity petcock, that's just on all the time until you turn it off. So, that's where the vacuum petcock is great. You can avoid that little task. Until it isn't great and leaks down into your carburetor, into your airbox and into your engine -- creating a dangerous hydro-locking problem. So that's why you want to make sure this doesn't leak.
