[Music] let's take a look at rs-232 now we're gonna use a max 232 chip to convert a TTL signal to our students early - and then back to TTL and we're going to use that to send data between toward Windows and we're going to send it over a null modem cable now this cable we take pin 3 and tie it to pin 2 here in pin 2 on this one to pin 3 on this one now it's called a null modem cable because historically they used it to connect to teleprinters together without a modem if you're going to a modem would be a modem cable no modem no modem cable so that's how we're connecting this 3 to 2 and 2 to 3 and of course we have a ground there now we're gonna send a an H we're gonna wait a second we're gonna send an L over here and when it gets over here when we see the H it's gonna turn on pin 13 make it high and we see an L it's gonna take pin 13 and put it low there and this is the code to send the
